I’ve been knee-deep in projects, guys; preparing to lauch DRKGMTRY on April 1st,  knocking out a few DIY projects, putting things on sale in the etsy store, and figuring out the whole point to Lost (it isn’t exciting…AT ALL).

Oh…yeah, I kind of slipped in DRKGMTRY like you all are supposed to know what the hell that is.  In short, it’s the antithesis to the etsy store.  Darker, if you will.  Lots of leather.  Fun stuff!   Let’s hope I can get it all photographed so a proper preview can be posted.

*crosses fingers*

Thank you all for your comments on the Terry Richardson…issue…I love it when I can get an actual discussion going, so *hugs* and *fist bumps* to all of you for adding your insights and opinions.

…the other side of the game…

Last Thursday, I got to meet up with gorgeous L.A. bloggers Diabolina of Da Fashionista, Natalie of Fashion Intel and my favorite Aussie blogger Lenya of The Fashion Loving Stylist who was in town for the weekend.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I can’t tell you how much it means when I get to meet up with some of the coolest, sweetest, fashionable people I know to talk about shoes, Natalie’s Wang (bag) and TRANNIES!!!!

(side note: I’m all ready for season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race to start tomorrow.  Are you?  If you’re unaware of what is probably the greatest reality show on television, go here to watch all of season 1.)

Seriously though, all of these ladies are amazingly wonderful people and if you haven’t already, visit their blogs!

Obligatory photos of us tearing around Downtown L.A.:

(Diabolina’s adorable ring)

These photos are Diabolina’s which I kinda…stole…umm…yeah

Diabolina took this one

And this one is Lenya’s (which I also  ”stole”…)

A big “thank you” to the man with the accent in Seven Grand (which now SUCKS, btw) who saw us taking photos of ourselves and offered to get one…or a few…of all of us together.  L to R is moi, Diabolina, Natalie, and Lenya.

I <3 y’all!

…she’s never satisfied…

My darling dear readers,

I apologize.

I know I’ve subjected you to countless facelifts, changing banners, tweaked urls, thematic theatrics, and random headers with corresponding post titles.  This must be a lot to deal with.  Ugh.

The truth is, I get bored.  I get bored VERY easily.  I crave change constantly and I kinda need you to just roll with it.  If you do, I’ll try my hardest to keep you mildly entertained for the 54 seconds you spend here.  Deal?  Cool.

I always find it funny how a blazer and a pair of pumps can make a t-shirt and jeans seem so much more than…a t-shirt and jeans.

I put this dookie chain together last night after seeing Geri’s gold version the night before at the vintage swap party she co-hosted with stylist Monica Rose and Alexi of I’m Boy Crazy.  Racks of clothing for (almost) free, a cool crowd, cooler photogs, ambient DJ music and free alcohol made for a pretty freakin’ sweet night.

VIVA LA BOUCHE ROUGE!!! Natalie de Fashion Intel (my luvah), Alexi, Geri, et MOI

**don’t you love how I randomly turn on my 3 semesters of French?**

I ended up with some pretty cool things, the most important being a purse that looks like a purse and not a grocery shopper in turquoise pleather.  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.

Outfit deets for those interested…
Today: vintage shirt, thrifted blazer, Insight jeans, Aldo shoes
Monday: vintage haori*, F21 sweater, Refuge jeans, Acne shoes

*I found out that the garment I thought was called a kimono is a actually a haori.  I probably should have known better because kimono aren’t this short and generally function similarly to wrap dresses.  This is a jacket.

We (I and Mocha, specifically) like to be sartorially and culturally accurate while giving you generally useless information that you can impress your friends with.  GO FORTH AND INFORM THEM!

In The Streets 002: Empire State of Mind

its

lineup

It’s Hovie, baby…

Had a kickass time last night in the third row.  Sure, my right ear doesn’t work anymore, but I think it was worth it.  Ok, maybe not completely worth it if this ringing/electric buzzing sound doesn’t stop in the next few days…I’m sure it will.  Won’t it???  =\

Me and my girls on the bus post-show

Oh, and watch out for Bridget Kelly.  Aside from being immensely talented (yeah, she’s not a backup singer…), she’s cooler than the other side of the pillow.

In The Streets 001: A Redux

A couple of weeks ago, I played correspondent for my girl Danielle (The Style & Beauty Doctor for those of you who haven’t met her yet).  Miss Jessie’s, purveyors of products that every kinky/curly girl should get to know, came to Los Angeles for an event and I jumped at the chance to go.  Aside from meeting Kethia of The Flaunt Files (HEY GIRRRRRRRRRL!!!), I got to interview Titi and Miko Branch, creators of the Miss Jessie’s salon and line of products.  The interview is over at Danielle’s blog.

(I completely fan-girled out in front of them.  So embarrassing.)

In an unrelated adventure that happened what feels like ages ago, I met up with Geri and Krystal over at Revolve for the Love-Made LA Fashion Week Launch party.  Aren’t we cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute?

I <3 these two.  I <3 them a lot.

NOT OVER YET!!! I also got to go to a Wii Fit Yoga party hosted by my blogger bestie Ev’Yan.  I’m jacking Katelin’s review of the event.  Read it here.  So fun!!!!!

(I’m in there, I swear!)

Here’s hoping that I get out more so I can do more posts like this.  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
