Now that my crop is getting closer and closer to that awkward length, I’m finding it easier to wear large, loud necklaces. In fact, it’s kind of a necessity. Something about face framing…or drawing away attention…or something like that…I’m sure I heard it on the What Not To Wear marathon that was the soundtrack to my Friday…
This lovely lapis creation came about after a long and drawn out internet search for something completely unrelated. I love it when that happens. I liken it to falling “down the rabbit hole” or spending two hours clicking slightly related links on Wikipedia. Everything else has done a turn on the blog before, but if you missed the stories about the t-shit and jeans I am wearing, they are here and here. Why there are separate ordeals surrounding the purchases of two very basic pieces of clothing is beyond me…why these ordeals often start because of my closet purging neurosis is even further beyond me.

I got it from a tumblr. Can’t quite remember the name, but I’m sure it’s along the lines of “Fuck Yeah, Vulgar Pooh Bear” or something…
In unrelated news, I need another pair of glasses. Something not so striking, but still…a bit striking. I’m thinking either of these 1960′s prison issues from my go-to specs spot, Gentlemen’s Breakfast.

I agree with The Queen of Hearts, that your current glasses are really great. But if you just want a change, I’d vote for the ones on the upper right. Although I think the glasses you are wearing are sort of a marriage between the two you are considering. Why not go NUTS & get some red glasses or something? HA!

Glasses: go with the ones with little silver studs (nails?) on them. The elongated shape will be super flattering. I’m frankly a little jealous that I don’t get to accessorize with dope glasses especially because they really play up my “Jewish-writerly” vibe.

Before I forget, I’m yay-ing the rounder (not horn-rimmed) frames. I feel they are more versatile and can transcend trends more easily.
