Twelve by Twelve Mesh Covered Skirt, $29

When did this skirt become overkill?

a – the floral print

b – the stabby mesh overlay

c – the ruching

d – the black piping

e - the exposed zipper on one side

f - the ruffled stabby mesh explosion on the left thigh

———

If you’re new and need context, read this post.  For everyone else, there is NO “all of the above” option.  You guys were cheating last time.  =P

I’m going with C as well. I think the black mesh COULD have toned down the femininity of the floral print. But C-F killed it.

    (a)
the print clearly came first, and it is heinous. They obviously had a bunch of this crap fabric and wanted to use it up, but they knew they had to disguise it. Disguise Fail. But Distraction Almost Win.
Guess there’s no need to get started on the shoes.

I would definitely say C. The floral print was fine. The overlay made it look a bit…different. The ruching just took it to a whole new level.

Hmm, I’m trying to be objective because nothing about this skirt is my style! But lets see… I think it gets unbearable around (d) the piping. But they could have stopped at (a), and made just a nice normal floral mini skirt (not that I really even like the pattern, but still). Ok, I got my meanness out for the day now, I feel good! :D

I remember I first saw this skirt and seeing now…I still don’t know how I feel about it. I would probably say that F made the skirt overkill. Actually with the exception of one beautiful skirt I’ve gotten from F21′s Twelve by Twelve line. Everything is overkill from that line.

    d, e, f

hold on, i am going to put on my readers to have a better look…you know i like ‘excess’ myself hehehehe but even i can’t even begin to comprehend the ‘fuckedupness’ of this mess right here. if this was on sale for a fiver with an extra 76% iff, i wldn’t even buy it as a shitgift for any of the ppl on my ‘piss off list’

    *pondering…

u know what i am also thinking that B is completely unnecessary here also. and fuck it throw C in the mix too cuz i’m sure that wld affect the fit of the skirt anyway…waht do we have left right A.. the floral ? ok only that can stay….

can we phone up F21 peeps and tell them to DO OVER this mess? u know what i’ m sure they don’t even care about the real customers who actually wear their clothes, but come to think of it, imagine if a well known designer did this, every other fashionista will be in ‘faux’ love and EPIC this and KILLA that all over it.

what was i saying again?….ahhhh yes….i forget, waiting for the image to erase itself …can we just forget this ever happened??

p.s>>> if this skirt appears anywhere in my dreams tonight dude, you are going to get a proper e-flogging …mark my words!:P

I’d have to say probably somewhere between

f – the ruffled stabby mesh explosion on the left thigh
    &
e – the exposed zipper on one side

I can handle the piping. I can even kind of deal with the ruching, but that poofy thing? Not only does it look ridiculous, but I’m pretty sure that having had a large bird poop out mesh on to one leg would be extremely annoying to wear.

I guess I’m one of the few people who’d say I liked the look of this skirt! If the rest of the outfit has too much going on, then I’d probably take it back. If you keep everything else simple but keep this as a statement skirt, I think it’ll look just fine.

Ruffly exploding thing. (Sorry, too lazy at the moment to scroll and read again)

I must say they really shouldn’t use designs over and over again but I guess this is the problem with open source designs and all … I already own this skirt in plain white with an exposed zipper.. Makes my butt look like a cloud and I like it for that same reason.

C-F was definitely an overkill. The black mesh overlay could have taken this skirt into the “night out” category but, with everything else layered on top of it, I think it’s definitely in the “bottom of the sales bin” category …

PS .. I’m new to your blog so I went back to read your post on your adventure to find a simple shirt and it was a GREAT read … :)
