Summer has finally decided to show up in SoCal. I’m always ambivalent at this time of year because summer is no longer synonymous with 3 months of lazing around in next to nothing, running through sprinklers and Slip ‘N’ Slides, playing video games all day, and punch bowls full of Kool-Aid. No, I am not reveling in the memory of my youth. I was doing all of that in college…and for a little while after…hell, I still would be if I didn’t have to come to work.

I’m glad I’m getting more comfortable with this whole open toe thing, because it’s too hot for any other type of shoe. I sniped these a couple of weeks ago on ebay hoping that the physical presence of more than one pair of sandals in my house would force me to wear them even though I generally hate wearing them (this is one of my less far-fetched justifications, believe it or not).
As luck would have it, this particular pair is very comfortable and as easy to throw on as those black oxfords that I’m wearing into the ground. I’m crossing my fingers that the Maddens from earlier this week share those qualities. If so, I will have officially crossed over to the darkside. Yay for progress and pumice stones.
Sooooooooo, is everyone else experiencing 85 degree weather at 9pm? Do we love or hate it?

Thank you. I am horribly self conscious about them, so it’s not creepy at all.
Yeaaa… it’s super hot over here in Atlanta too. I’m not sure why, but I’m still always surprised to get up and it’s already 80 degrees at 8 AM when I go to work.

Yes actually! And I love it…here in the Midwest, we take all the warmth and sunshine we can get…especially me because I’m a Florida transplant, haha.

Feel that. I refuse to move anywhere because of the weather. Seriously. LOL. A friend of mine was transplanted from SoCal to Arizona in summer and Minnesota in winter. I wanted to cry for her.
Cute outfit. Was the toenail polish matching the necklace part of a master plan, or one of those “it worked out that way randomly, but yes, yes, it IS part of a plan, thanks for noticing” things? Can’t be having one of those “Boomarang” moments…it’s treacherous wearing open-toed shoes in SoCa.

Miss J has a “foot thing” too… Feet are weird & unattractive, mostly. Miss J TOTALLY judges feet all the time… including and especially her own. She tries not to show much toe herself but somedays a gal just can’t help it. Today, Miss J is wearing pumps and really regretting they aren’t peep-toe. Her feets is HOT and swollen!
Miss Alicia’s pedal extemities look very nice here. Miss J recommends not worrying about them. Rock them sandals, girl!

As long as they look good from far away, I’m cool. It’s just too hot for my regular footwear.
I think it was still 85 when I went out at 1am last night… Now it’s raining. Southern California is so confused.

It was 95 degrees here last time I checked & I think it’s getting hotter. Once the sun goes down, we’re jumping in the pool.

God, I wish I had a pool right now. Have fun!
Girl, try 90 degrees with a gabrillion percent humidity at 8 AM and 85 degrees with a gabrillion percent humidity at 10PM. Yay, DC weather!
And try all this when, in a comedy of errors of EPIC proportions, your A/C unit falls out the damn hell ass window (fortunately no one was hurt) and you’re waiting to replace it.
Um, not that that happened to me or anything.
Anyway, I dig your outfit. So casual and effortless but incredibly chic. Love the necklace too. I’m like you, I’m not big on sandals but in this kind of weather they are a neccessity, for sure.
