Angie and me. I’m wearing an H&M shirt (recommended for those who like the Elizabeth & James Artist shirt, but refuse to pay $200+ for it), and duchamped shorts and boots. The brooch was a gift from Birdie.

I’m not big on making extravagant plans on holiday weekends. I usually end up spending the entire time in my sweats, watching the Food Network and eating cereal. It sounds like a total waste, but it’s my idea of a pretty freakin’ sweet weekend.
This time around, watching the Food Network gave me an incredible craving for fish tacos. I decided the mission for Monday was to find some and gorge. Angie was in town, so she, dudeguy and I headed over to Best Fish Taco in Ensenada…in Los Feliz. Their assortment of mild & spicy salsas is enough of a reason to pay a visit. Two better ones are the tacos are really good and pretty cheap ($1.50 for fish, $2 for shrimp). If you go, bring cash and get lime wedges. You are missing a vital part of the taco experience if you don’t enjoy a drizzle of lime juice on top.
Afterward, we went on a Rite Aid ice cream run and parked next to this beautiful blue 1966 Mustang coupe. After my initial gasp-and-clutch-the-pearls reaction, I HAD to take pictures. It was GORGEOUS. Everything original except the radio and quite possibly the paint. Fantastic condition all around. I wanted it…I really did…

I’ve had a thing for pre-1974 Mustangs since I was about 12. For years, I’ve dreamt of owning a 1968 Shelby Cobra GT 500 KR convertible (the KR stands for King of the Road). It is truly the stuff of legends - 1968 was the first year the Shelby convertible was introduced and only 518 were made. I won’t get into engine specs, but believe me, this thing was a MONSTER. My dad had this exact model in ALL BLACK decades ago that succumbed to theives of car parts (*heart breaks and subsequently explodes*). Finding one has been on my “must do” list ever since he told me about it. I’ll have to win the lottery to make it happen - they’re going for around $285,000 - but a girl can dream, right?
Forgive me if you don’t care anything about all of this car stuff, but I’d probably sell my firstborn to get my hands on this right here:

That is PRECISELY the show I was watching.
I swear, we’re twins.
Gotta love the Shelby.
My neighboor has the 2006 Tungsten GT, god, drool. It’s so beautiful.
But seriously, ’65 Continental is the way to go. All black, convertible, suicide doors. If I could buy any car, that would be it. (Well, that and the Aston Martin Vanquish)

I knew you would feel me on this one…
Hemi Barracuda, eh? I’d call it a close second. BEASTLY, that is.
1) I watch Top Gear because it’s hot.
2) I know more about cars than my husband.
3) I will fight you for that car.
4) You’ll win, but I’ll still try.

i will fight ellie di to fight you for that car. you might not win then. ha.
selby’s are the shiznit. i’m a gearhead as well but am mostly interested in unusual, obscure cars. like the koenigsegg. mmmmm. the boy taught me how to drive stick and i’ve been itching to find a good old fashioned muscle car to tear into. the passat is just not cutting it anymore.
oh, cool outfit. where are the boots from? totally feelin’ the look. might wear it tomorrow. hehe. total biter.

That car looks dangerous…
And congrats to you on learning the manny-tranny (just came up with that rightthisecond). Dad tried to teach me, but after 2 lessons I gave up.
Boots I got at Goodwill. I still can’t believe I found them where I did. SO not a location to find blush combat boots, but that’s probably why I found them. LOL.
damn, my legs look moisturized! lol…you forgot to mention how a 15 year old was driving that awesome Mustang, likely unawares of just how awesome of a vehicle it really is. Such a tragedy.

I’m trying to forget that part of the story.

Killer smile.
I LIVE for fish tacos Ensenada style. My favorite spot (after Rickys!) is Tacos Bajan Ensenada in East L.A. Maybe we can meet up for some.

Yeah, that’s a beauty right there…There’s aguy who drives a gorgeous red one around my town. I die just about everytime I see it. I know nothing about cars except everything pertaining to Mustangs and I certainly don’t think any other car desreves my attention, LOL!
I love your blog by the way…just discovered it and I’m so hooked
