DIY dress & harness
Kill City jacket
F21 scarf
Emporio Armani shoes

I admit that I didn’t really do this dress justice when it first showed up on the blog. I also admit that I have a problem when it comes to wearing dresses in general. For some reason, I know they’re easier and faster to put on when I’m pressed for time, but force of habit has me reaching for a pair of jeans almost every morning. This has to change.

I made a point to make my ideal dress; a one-piece wonder I could throw on in seconds that made me feel confident, comfortable, and fully clothed. Now that I’ve made it, the least I can do is wear it. Actually, wear them. I cranked out another one in a thick jersey the color of chocolate milk (they grey wool one I’d initially planned on got put on the back burner). Hopefully, since it feels more like a long t-shirt, it’ll get more mileage than this one. Hopefully.
The balance of the outfit (save for the jacket and scarf) is a testament to my neglectful ways:
The harness I made AGES ago. I would like to see this get more wear too, but you can imagine the odd remarks and stares I get at work. It’s a pretty liberal place when it comes to dress code (read: don’t come naked), but the leather-daddy look doesn’t exactly scream “day job.”
As for the nude (as soon as I get back out in the sun) mary janes…*sigh* I don’t even know what to say. How does someone not wear a pair of nude shoes? The leg lengthening aspect alone should place these in heavy rotation. Instead, they sit in the back of the brown shoe shelf until I remember that they’re adorable and need to see daylight every once in a while.
It’s a damn shame.
Is there anything you have that you both love and neglect? SPILL IT!!

Is that a slit over your breast? WHOA if it is, work it!
There’s nothing I love more than a girl who executes her very own fashion ideas. If only we could create a workshop that encouraged young women to make their own clothes.

I love what you have done with the dress! I looks lovely on you and all the better that it is comfortable.
Would you be willing to do a tutorial on the harness? It is BADASS!
First, allow me to photo nerd out and say I absolutely love the lighting
here. The second one is my favorite ofthe batch. It looks like it
was taken in the 60s. Something about your expression and
the softness of the colors…[/photonerd]
Also, I have a lovely (if slightly risque?) red bubble-hemmed dress that
I have never worn in public. Ever. I actually do look nice in it but it
also shows hella cleavage which makes me panic, chicken out and
opt for jeans when I go out. Shameful.

I think I’m in love with this dress. It’s too fab. There are
so many items in my wardrobe that get neglected. It’s a sad shame

Love the nude shoes! I treat my heels like red-headed stepchildren, since I take pub tran to work, so my flats get all the love…. but come spring I’ll put an end to that!
I love the dress…it looks so easy and I have a problem with recognizing how “normal” people view the world until I get stares from people who look at me funny because I have on a full face of makeup on at like 9am. *shrug*
hmmmmmmmmmmmm……….
I LOVE heels! Most of my faves are over 4 inches high…not the best footwear to have on when you take public transportation everywhere…*sigh*
oh yea…i want a tattoo on the inside of my arm now bc of your “golden child” one but your arms are a lot more toned than mine..

That Harness looks hot and the shoes are fab but they only compliment an already beautiful pair of legs
Hope you’ve had a great week girl
