end of the day

Just got home and I’m tired.  The evidence is all.over.my.face.  Not too much to say right now.  I just want to lie down and sleep.  So sad for a Friday night.

Some Friday evening thoughts:

  • For those who asked, the blazer in the last post is tweed (the one with the elbow patches).
  • These are the most comfortable and well cut jeans I own…and that’s saying a LOT.
  • I got my new ring this morning and ifuckingloveit.  Apparently it’s a handmade Poran ring.  Epic.
  • I realized this week that my birthday is next month.  I feel so weird about that.
  • Every passing day makes me think I should get a new camera.
  • Chauss’s affirmations do really help: it’s just as easy to be positive as it is to be negative; positive energy will boomerang back to you and negative energy will come back on you 10-fold; chocolate is an instant mood-elevator.  All words and concepts to live by.
  • I really need something better to do on Friday nights…

my latest haul

Office shoes//F21 everything else

Playing with Polyvore is fun.  So much fun that I figured I’d make a visual list of the stuff that I’ve copped for you all to judge see.  LOL.

Up first is that sequined, shiny loveliness in the corner.  I wasn’t looking for anything like it at.all, but when I happened to stumble upon this shortly after figuring out which tights to buy (the 2 pairs of pointelles off to the right bringing up the second and thrid spots), I fell in love.  I used to live in hoodies not too long ago, and this was just cute.

Last, but definitely not least since I’ve been talking about them since I first started this blog, are the infamous stiletto creepers.  A MILLION THANK YOUs to Susie Bubble for being so gracious as to take on the role of intermediary between me and the shipping charges that Office would have slapped me with had I ordered them myself (umm…£50 extra?  No thank you.  Does the UK not know about this recession?? ).  I owe you, Susie.  Big time.  Pamela, you too.  And you know why you treasure trove of ideas, you.  =)

Now that I’ve focused my attention on bigger and better things – namely that Nikon D-series SLR camera – there shouldn’t be too many more of these.

Shouldn’t be.

Channeling the Old Country

I was originally going to wear the vintage shirt my grandma gave me ages ago, but this felt much better.

Vintage Blazer//Tee from Sunset Junction//Citizens Jeans//Guess Shoes

I wasn’t in pain – I just look it.

I’m in a much better mood today.  I finally put all of chauss’s advice into action – chocolate and loud affirmations – and wouldn’t you know it, positivity returned to me.  The system works.  Thanks so much for all of your advice and great words.  If you guys ever need an uplifting word, CK’s blog is the place to get it.  Really.

Update:  thanks abysmal.  The link should be fine now.

Not much to say right now – I’m actually going to try and sneak into the Flaunt party that’s starting right now.  LOL.   I’ll leave you with one of my favorite songs:

Reinvented

As I was walking through Goodwill last weekend, I came across this garish floral printed black shirt.  I instantly fell in love with how it looked, but balked when I saw that it was a size 22W.  I was a bit confused when I saw 22W, but I didn’t ask anyone any questions.  Honestly, I felt like Peter when he was trying to figure out what a pallet of chocolate covered pretzels was.

I picked it up and held on to it remembering how Wendy managed to finagle a button down shirt into a skirt.  She has come up with some billiant DIYs without the privilege of formal training (and without years of experience as she’s still in high school – shocking, I know), so if you haven’t, you should check out her blog.

Where was I?

Oh yeah.  I remembered that she was able to turn a button down into a skirt.  I ended up buying it, but when I got home, I had no idea of what I was going to do to make this transformation happen.  After very little deliberation, my lazy-creative mind kicked in and I realized that I could just tie the damn thing around my waist.

You can’t really tell in the photos (that print is ridiculous), but the hanging arms gave my…masterpiece?…some much needed dimension.  Inadvertently, the seams also did a really cool thing and curved in from the sides.  I was a very happy camper.

I can’t believe my lil sister’s 20th birthday is tomorrow.  I feel so old. Somehow, I still she should be 14.  Is that wrong?

Maybe it is, but I think it’s even more wrong that she’s making me accompany her and her flock of friends to The Saddle Ranch this Friday.  Jeebus help me.

Tagged…Laura I’m gonna kill you…LOL

Laura over at Dirty Laundry tagged me to do the Definitive List: 37 Things I Love, so I decided to give it a go.  And no, I am not about to make a polyvore collage for each one of these like she did.  I just…can’t.  LOL.

No chocolate

I didn’t have the best day today; I just couldn’t get my mind right.  I woke up really late, the weather sucked, it was really cold, and I didn’t have the usual pick-me-up in my desk drawer.  I shouldn’t have eaten all of that leftover Halloween candy so quickly.

No full ‘fit post, but I think you can get the general idea:

Thrifted cardigan//FOTL tee//Citizens//Doc Martens

There are a few perks to having your bestie as a colleague.  Duckey could see I was in a less than stellar mood and sent me this.  Totally made my day.

How’s your week going? Better after seeing that video?  I thought so.

BONUS!!!

I’m in retro 90′s mode, so I have a couple of questions for those who want to come with:

- WHERE THE HELL did Az Yet go?  *in my Arsenio ‘Coming To America’ voice* Those boys were GOOD!

- Why did Keenen’s late night talk show get pulled?
