Nothing to say here…
Seriously, I’m tapped. So glad I get a vacation from work starting tomorrow. I need to get my head ready for the new year – goal lists, a career book, brushing up the blog and various other things. I hope all is well with the lot of you….actually I will say that you all as readers/browsers/lurkers have made this blogging experience very fun and rewarding for me. That you spend time to come by and listen to me rant on and on about nothing means a lot. For the few that I’ve befriended on and off of the intertubes, I appreciate you guys for the advice/banter/perspective/uplift that you knowingly and unknowingly give me on a daily basis.
Thank you.

I just found out Robin Thicke is performing tonight…
I’m not going. Sucks.
Aside from Twitter, eating free pot roast for lunch at work, and catching up on blogs, I really didn’t do much today.
Terrible.
I’m slating myself for bigger and better things in 2009 and with enough motivational speaking from my friends (love you Bash and Ali!) and leaving the house once in a while (E-Dubb, I’m looking for your carrier pigeon), those things should actually happen. I can’t wait to see what the new year is going to bring…it damn well better be good because I’m turning 25 and I refuse to let these last two years color my outlook on the future. I…just…can’t…
I wish I could expound here, but I’m deathly paranoid of internet spies.
Yes, it’s Rockwell

As of now, I think I totally missed out on visiting with my Aunt. I have the magnificent exploding car to thank for that one.
*golf clap*
Not to be outdone by my stupidassvehicle that is set to drive me insane, I’ll just use this as an excuse to fly to Texas and meet her on her turf. I think it’s a pretty good deal considering that I haven’t been since they moved out there in 20…something.
I’m such a terrible neice. Really. LOL.
Is anyone lamenting having to work this week?

Weekend Update
Dudes, the show was off the hook with a few exceptions. I was in awe of all the hyper-short and skinny guys there all wearing skinny jeans and plaid shirts. Weird. Here are links to where you can find some of the highlights of my night (sans shit talking and seeing Angie, of course):
That’s all I can remember for now. Check ‘em out! E-Dubb over at What Eye Thought has pictures here. And yes, dude did perform in a bathrobe. I know. I know.

Ok, so today I met up with my besties from FiDM for about 5 hours at the Grove. We had a lot of catching up to do and they had to help me get my ish together. It seems as if I’m the only one in our class collective not doing something big and industry related (one is a set decorater for tv and film, the other does wardrobe for some famous rapper’s tours). Sure I’m jealous, but hopefully ’09 will change all that.
Auntie is leaving on Tuesday, so I’ll be seeing her tomorrow.
It’s been a long weekend. =)

Not eating my words yet…
I don’t have to have them, but damn these are fresh. I was actually on the hunt for this shoe in electric blue for Duckey, but they turned out to be Louis Vuitton and therefore out of the budget…that is until bebe saved the day wallet.
AWAY WITH YOU TEMPTATION!

For anyone interested, I’m going to see auntie Sunday since she got caught up at LAX. The FiDS reunion was also pushed back to Sunday due to hectic schedules (and it wasn’t even my idea). Today, I ended up at my guy friend’s house hanging out with his mom who was down from St. Louis and learning how to play Tonk (don’t ask – LOL). Good times, great friends and good food are always a good combination. Later, I went to the show as planned and am now dealing with shot ears and trying to find the myspace pages of several groups.
It was a good night =)

It's Amazing
Guys, I’m really dedicated to this idea of keeping my financial house under control. My balances (save that lovely little splurge on the Nikon) are all still at zero – CLUTCH THE PEARLS – and honestly, I haven’t seen anything I want to buy that badly – CLUTCH THE PEARLS AGAIN. I’m shocked to be quite honest. For the first time since July, I don’t feel the need to buy anything. Really.

Take these new Topshop boots. Everyone seems to love them, but they just don’t move me. Not even a little bit.
This is a joyous occasion. Time to go forth and celebrate in the most financially responsible way. I need to get out of the house. For the past three days I’ve been:
- sleeping until 1pm (shameful, I know)
- watching marathons of Aqua Teen Hunger Force
- watching an insane amount of movies (Dr. Strangelove, Quest for Fire, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Friday After Next, The Maltese Falcon, The Sting, and Harlem Nights)
- tweeting incessantly on Twitter
- turning those F21 jeans into something seriously skinny – I mean they’re basically denim leggings now. Score.
Luckily for me and my cabin fever inflicted psyche, I’ll be having a mini-FiDM reunion with my two besties and later I’ll be going to a show as my friends have devoted themselves to getting me out of the house.
2 minute update: my favorite aunt just called saying she’s in town for the day. FUCK! I have no car and am thisclose to overscheduling myself. If I don’t see her I’m going to be livid. Seriously. Hmm…Universe??
Dec 24 2008
…
My car’s radiator exploded. Again. I wasn’t in it, but dudeguy was. Insult to injury: he just picked up some food from In N’ Out. I’m stuck in the house and hungry waiting on AAA to get here with my janky ass car, cold food, and a remorseful dudeguy. Merry Christmas to me.
Why does the universe hate me so much?
5 minute later update: Ok I’m back. Fearing a(nother) e-lashing from chauss, I have decided that this is just a curve ball and that I will be able to get through it with some calm ingenuity, some planning, and plenty of positive vibes. I think I’ve been doing well considering the fact that I haven’t yelled, cried, shouted obscenities or anything of that nature. Gold star for me.
Does anyone have a vehicle hook-up? I don’t need anything supa-dupa-fly; just something that doesn’t break down every few months.
*SO HAPPY this didn’t happen on a week where I didn’t have any days off*

THEY'RE HERE
Before I get into why the last hour was the happiest I’ve had in a while, I’ll have you all know that my dear mother unloaded a lot of unwanted items on me when I went to visit her last Sunday. This blazer was one of them. Among the rest are one insane limey/yellow silk jacket with a red paisley print (fuuuuuun) and about 5 pairs of culottes. She has even more that are still in her closet. Mom is adorable, ain’t she? LOL. If I start wearing a lot of extra long shorts come June, you’ll know why.

Vintage blazer and dress//Amy Appy Lamé Leggings//Chucks
Now, for why this was the greatest hour I’ve had in a while. Susie, I love you. Really. After months of ogling, wishing, hoping, and pleading, I have now been united with what I believe is the best.shoe.ever.

Everything KristyLee said about them being comfortable as hell and like “walking on a cloud” is absolutely true. She is the reason I was even aware these shoes existed and I fully blame her for my obsession. LOL.
I’m sad I didn’t get to wear them today because they made the outfit look 10x better, but I’m elated that they are finally here.

Ok, Dudeguy just ruined my evening by telling me about the horror that happened in San Francisco. I really want a Legalize Gay shirt now. I’m sorry if I put a damper on your evening, but this shit is crazy and needs to stop. Immediately if not sooner.
5 hours later update: I just saw that the shoes went on sale on the Office site. No matter, they’re worth it either way. But still. AARGH! LOL.

Maurie & Eve
Yeah, no picture today. It wasn’t much anyway since I woke up 45 minutes late this morning. That memory foam topper dudeguy got me for Christmas (that I couldn’t wait to open) is making it very hard to get up in the morning. Let’s see if I can get it right tomorrow morning.
Kara, I don’t think he reads it, but we do have an understanding when it comes to celebrities. LOL.
Instead of my usual vanity shot, I’ll leave you with my favorite looks from the Maurie and Eve SS09 line. Aussie designers Kelly Davies and Maya Clemmenson are the machine behind these beautiful garments, drawing inspiration from the love shared by Kelly’s grandparents Maurice and Evelyn. Lenya, I need you to see if you can grab me either of the following…please and thank you:

I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I really need to stop using my credit cards so I can work on paying off my $43K in student loans. Today was the day that I got all of my card balances to $0.00, so I’l feeling really good about that. Step one, complete.
Target Cardy//Old Navy Tank//AA Jeans//alice+olivia for Payless shoes//Scarf from Arabelle

Now if I can keep from using them, I’ll be in good shape. Good luck with that one. Although I did make a couple of purchases today (a black layering cardigan thing, navy nail polish and some flat boots), I used “cash.” Keeping up with this method is going to be an…interesting…task, but I think I can do it.

Indeed that was the ring in the last post, Molls. Here’s a better picture. Doesn’t it look grand on my stubby little fingers?

Vintage (I think) Poran ring
Ok, so I’m hella excited that it’s the weekend. This week was taking forever to pass and I was in no mood to do much of anything. Perhaps a concert tonight will lift my spirits. Dudeguy and I don’t really get to hang out until the weekend and some of his favorite punk bands are playing, so this should turn out well if we happen to go. YAY!

Does anyone have a vehicle hook-up? I don’t need anything supa-dupa-fly; just something that doesn’t break down every few months.

But still. AARGH! LOL.

Ok, so I’m hella excited that it’s the weekend. This week was taking forever to pass and I was in no mood to do much of anything. Perhaps a concert tonight will lift my spirits. Dudeguy and I don’t really get to hang out until the weekend and some of his favorite punk bands are playing, so this should turn out well if we happen to go. YAY!
