F21 Top & Belts//Handmade Skirt//Tights from Target//Colin Stuart Boots
I really couldn’t decide which picture I liked best, so I used them all. Yay for exercises in vanity!
I was feeling a tad uninspired in the clothing department yesterday, but today made up for that. Thank you endlessly to S for giving me a failsafe way to put outfits together. I don’t think I could have pulled this off the top of my head in the morning consiering that I can’t even string words together to form a coherent sentence before 9:30. It’s sad.
I’m supposed to go to a Korean coffee house tonight with my friend Joei. Let’s hope that one pans out.
The Renaissance…
Buy this album. Now. It’s amazing.
That is all.
Thank you.
But seriously, I got to hear snippets of this today and Q-Tip is NOT PLAYING. At all. It’s an amazing record – every single of the 12 tracks are good and that’s extremely rare in the music being offered today. I won’t use this as an in to go on my tirade about how most music sucks today (lookin’ at you hip-hop). I will say that I am glad that two individuals have decided to go against the grain and made good music – stuff they wanted to do that steps beyond the trends that hip-hop can’t seem to break from, and sadly, is known for. Thank God.
After hearing Kanye’s interview on KROQ yesterday (further confirmation of my love for that man) and listening to this album today, I’ve decided that The Renaissance and 808’s and Heartbreak are the only two CDs/mp3 albums I need to buy this year. Really.
And to all of those people giving Kanye major flack for this album, I will remind you that an artist’s job is not to make hits for you, it’s to make art for him. If you buy it or benefit from it, all the better for him, but you are not the focus. How selfish of you.
Time to Get Up…
Me Wantee!
Pennerad, you are a saint for introducing me to this here jacket that can be worn a million different ways. And it’s called “The Boiled Dim Sum Coat.” And it has zippered arm holes that you can open and close at will. How cool is that? Really. Tell me how cool this is.

Available @ Karmaloop
Ok, so to date we I have those Chloe boots and this jacket on my “generous benefactor who wants to do nothing else but send me flyshit to wear” list o’ stuff. I still don’t have any takers, but I think If I keep adding to this list, someone will eventually do it.
Wishful thinking maybe? Probably? Actually?
Ok, you’re right. It’s nice to dream, though. Or just save up enough to buy it. Or just put it on the good ol’ Mastercard/Visa/Discover/Diners Club/AAA/Chevron…
Or not.
Decisions, decisions.
Tremors…
Call me crazy, but I think we’re experiencing several miniature earthquakes in SoCal right now. My CD stack is shaking…let’s hope it doesn’t get worse.
Damn San Andreas faultline.
In My Mind…
Blazer: NY & Co, Shirt: FOTL, Vintage Tie, Jeans: Refuge, Boots: Guess
There was nothing remarkable about today; no funny stories, no horror stories; no nothing. I like days like this, but the really good ones and really bad ones make life so much more interesting.
*sigh*
In lieu of recounting the day’s events, I’ll share some of the thoughts buzzing though my head. Please don’t expect there to be any cohesion.
- I love these damn boots. They may be the best ones I’ve ever purchased.
- As much as I try, i can’t effectively stick to a shopping ban for more than two months. Sorry molly. I tried. Really, really hard. I’ll get back on the wagon after the holiday season. =P
- I think I’m going to try and make some drop crotch pants. Not the “I look like I just shit my pants” kind, but the “the crotch on those pants is kinda low” kind. No one likes shitty pants, and I happen to like the silhouette of the less droopy ones. And being comfortable. They look comfortable as hell.
- Reading blog comments makes me sad sometimes. These internet pee-po are harsh! Rumi, who gets a lot of hate for seemingly NO reason, had the best response to all of that ridiculousness – she ignored it for a long time, and finally spoke her mind about it. You can read it here. GOLF CLAP FOR RUMI!
- I really want a s’mores Pop Tart right now.
- I really like Chocolate News on Comedy Central. DAG is hilarious.
- One day, I think I’m going to randomly buy a plane ticket to some city and try to make a life for myself with only $20 and a suitcase…several suitcases. It could happen, right?
- Why don’t I own a cheapie pair of black leggings? I find that to be very odd.
- I think MySpace and Facebook are soon to go the way of BlackPlanet. I can’t wait until it happens.
- I’m so glad that 90’s style is mode again. Mom saw me in my docs the other day and remembered that I used to wear them all.the.time in elementary school/junior high. I was touched that she brought it up.
- Karl Lagerfeld is my hero.
- I like doing/wearing/saying off-the-cuff things just because I know I can. It’s a great feeling. Seriously.
- I miss watching Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. I’m mad they had it on Adult Swim for a month and got rid of it. Sucks.
Ok, I thinkI’ll stop now. LOL. Hope you guys are having a great week!
I Was Chased By A Roach
I’m serious. No, really. Seriously. For Real. I’m not joking.
Ok, well replace “chased by” with “in the shower when lo and behold I was met unceremoniously with the sight of a three inch water bug that may as well have been.”
Good morning to me.
Do you know what it’s like to be in the most vulnerable position you could ever be in and having one of your worst fears stare you right in the face? Taunting you? Mocking you? Daring you to squish it with either a wet palm or a bare foot? HUH? DO YOU?!?!?
Sorry. I really don’t like bugs. That shit was disgusting. And it made me late for work.
On to lighter fare – I wore my Roger belt today with thebestdressever that came from the dollar sale. I love that place…so much. The fabric is waffle-y in texture and very cool indeed.

The Gods Must Be Crazy…
Actually, I’m thinking that I must have gotten on their bad side because I just had to pull an 6″ splinter of wood out of my left index finger. You should have seen it. It was epic. Subsequently, I had to break out a needle, lighter, a cotton ball full of peroxide and pointy ended tweezers to coax the remaining 4 minute pieces of wood it left behind.
How did this happen? I turned out the light while leaving the bathroom. That’s.All. I really wish the story were more exciting. It isn’t.
Needless to say, I don’t feel like rambling on as usual because my fingertip is now foaming from every hole I had to poke in it. Here are a couple of low-qual pictures from today:

Side note: Vincent from over at Blogging Our Way 2 Bombay has named me one of America’s Next Top Bloggers. Not sure what that will net me, but hey, it’s nice to be thought of. Check out the post and vote for yours truly if you’ve nothing else to do.

It was a little hot out to be wearing this today, but I think I was able to put the heat out of my mind long enough to make it through. Believe me when I tell you that jacket was off come high noon. 89 degrees. This is just shameful. LOL.
Ok, so last night I went to my father’s company’s 20th anniversary dinner. To my surprise, my estranged little brother and god-brother were there last night (funny…they both have the same name). Good times. I haven’t seen the young one for a little bit, so naturally I was shocked to see that he had grown up and above me.
I did what any big sister would do when faced with that situation: I told him that I would still kick his ass.
It’s true.
Sooooooo, what’s up for the weekend? I might actually have something to do besides going to Jet Rag, so let’s cross our fingers.
Random Photo of the Day:

This is just cheeky...
This is going to be a pretty short post because I’m supposed to be on the other side on town in about 18 minutes.
I do actually own a pair of non-skinny jeans and I wore them today. Played a little with looser shapes, and had a pretty good time doing it. Enjoy the random fountain picture. Oh, and have a good night.

Vintage Dress: Jet Rag
Belt: New York Vintage
Tights: Target
Shoes: Guess
In addition to the traumatic events of this morning, later in the day I came across something that sent nearly an equal amount of fear through my body:
I’m still shocked that this product actually exists. I weep for the children.
I Don't Know Why I Love You…

Shirt & Belt: Thrifted
Tee: FOTL
Leggings: American Apparel
Shoes: Guess
And one of only half of the masters of my domain:
Happy Monday.
Side note: Vincent from over at Blogging Our Way 2 Bombay has named me one of America’s Next Top Bloggers. Not sure what that will net me, but hey, it’s nice to be thought of. Check out the post and vote for yours truly if you’ve nothing else to do.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks, Vincent!

Yeah, so I totally swagger-jacked Kirsten Dunst, but I really liked the look. Eat your heart out lil’ vampire chick!
